ABOUT TAM
I've been tangled up in wig hair for the last 20 years and now specialise in hand made, hard cap wigs and head props. I worked predominantly in theatre and window display but have made pieces for music videos, film and pantomime amongst others.

I'm best known for my made to measure hand made wigs but I also work with soft wigs on request. I like to incorporate mixed media into my work and I love to re-use and re-work different materials into my wigs whenever I can.

I had a studio in South East London for nearly 5 years where myself and a small team supplied mannequin wigs for many of the high street stores for their window displays.

I moved from London to the wild gothic backdrop of West Yorkshire in 2020 and set up a home working studio in the loft of my home. I now happily work independently on commissions in the company of my two rescue dogs, Billy and Prune.

My best work is done when there is a story to tell or a problem to solve and I take inspiration from many different sources. I am a faithful and committed Nick Cave junkie. I devour any films by Tim Burton or Wes Anderson and gothic novels such as Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Dracula, Interview with a Vampire .... it goes on!

When I'm not making wigs, I'm generally making something else. I love to bake, crochet and knit and have been slowly renovating our stone brick house in the Calder Valley where we relocated.

I write about my creative journey in my blog which you can read here - I share tips and tricks I've found useful along the way and general musings about developing a meaningful creative practice and working for yourself.

I take private commissions for wigs and also sell a selection of my own designs. I also offer a hire service for a selection of pieces suitable for display, performance or events.
